Gentlemen, start your engines!
So the time has finally come for me to start driving here in Japan. It's really unavoidable, our group has gotten so large that on many of our trips we need 6 or 7 cars to hold all the students.Japan is famous for the fact that they drive on the left side of the road. In fact I have heard that every other country that does this was forced into it because they were at one time a British Colony. OK enough history!
The other issue here is that the majority of the streets are SMALL!!! When you drive you always fear that you will hit a side mirror on the walls surrounding the yards of peoples houses or worse yet of the car traveling the other direction.
So this leads to the question. What is the best type of car for me to get to help the BEST Club out with our need to haul students on trips and outings?
Lets look at the choices :
This Silver Nissan Skyline looks like a great choice. This is probably the most famous Japanese sports car 1968 was a defining year for the car. A great way to honor Japan's heritage, right?What to old you say!
OK lets look at the next choice.This is a 1995 Nissan Gloria. This looks good right four doors, so there is more room for students. Downside, it's also the most popular Japanese sedan for the yakuza (mafia) here in Japan. OK so maybe this is not a good choice. Somebody confuses cars and the next thing you know I'm in a Japanese jail. Yikes!
Oh wait I've got it we need a van!! A van could haul a lot of students right!
OK, how about the Nissan Cube. It's modern and full of style that totally hits home with today's hip Japanese college students. So how can we go wrong with this choice? OK this is a compact van that seats 4 people and it's a 2006. Maybe that's puts it a bit out of my price range.Well what should I choose then????
